The new subscription advantage pack for AutoCAD Map 3D - url has been released for a while, which have a new functionality for working with point cloud data. I have tried the building point cloud, which is in XYZ file format. The file size is over 1GB.

I would like to share what I saw in last week; the geoExpressions is stored into my blogline. These webcast is created by Autodesk, hosted by DLT Solutions, Inc.. It's focus on water/ wasterwater management by using AutoCAD Map 3D.

Before to see the webcast, why we need to manage geo-spatial data? Do we need it for our project?

Generally speaking, Revit/ BIM model is the object-based which have attached many informative attribute of the model; every component have their own property, behavior. Recently I have to test the Design Review with GPS device. Those DWF file can be generated from AutoCAD Map 3D/ Civil 3D even IE browser by MapGuide enterprise.

This is the reference case for showing how the Autodesk Infrastructure solution applied to Airport project. Involved software have AutoCAD Map 3D, MapGuide Enterprise and Oracle database. Actually this is the traditional case in many area. They were used paper map for their system before. It doesn't provide good location-based and real-time information.

Although this isn't a new product which embed GPS Data into Digital Images nowadays. If the project involved a lot of assets on street, it should be very useful.
