Although I haven’t opportunity to attend the AU2009, I can attend the virtual classroom at anytime, anywhere and any platform. I choose to sitting in training lab to see these virtual classes. I'm sure that you can find many interesting topic and impressive technology into the Autodesk University.

I would like to share what I found in the virtual class of AU 2009 last week.

Recently I have to test the Design Review with GPS device. Those DWF file can be generated from AutoCAD Map 3D/ Civil 3D even IE browser by MapGuide enterprise.

I have installed the MapGuide Enterprise 2008 of the parallels desktop, now I would like to show the general functionality. This is the AJAX client using PHP. It let's you more quickly and interactively navigate the map. I have captured some screen shots and shows the functionality about create a Buffer, distance measure, find address, query features, plot as DWF and print. Let's take a look.

Create a Buffer

From Geospatial - Made in France, he posted a threads which have embedded a video. The video shows the MapGuide provides the dynamic DWF files. The User can view the specific area and then uses the MapGuide website to generate the dynamic DWF file. Finally Autodesk Design Review can be used for opening the DWF file and navigates it. It can be provided high quality map.

Now Autodesk Design Review is free to download which included Design Review, Autodesk DWF Viewer and Autodesk DWF Writer.

XPS is built-in to the Microsoft Vista operating system. This is the good news for CAD user to share their design with another. But the XPS is only a viewer it do not provide the Autodesk Design Review capabilities like markup, measurement, batch printing...

Many designer asked any product of Autodesk have a ability that it can only see/ move the model and do a mark-up on the model, but he can't modify the file or do not need the powerful software to open it. The Autodesk design review 2007 may be help you for sharing the design with another parties.
