Today I saw my colleagues table have a 3D printing model which is the city model. The model is over 500 piece high-rise building block with the terrain model. The model is mainly emphasized the new development and study how the surrounding building would be impacted. Nowadays the paper plan may not be good enough!

Although I haven’t opportunity to attend the AU2009, I can attend the virtual classroom at anytime, anywhere and any platform. I choose to sitting in training lab to see these virtual classes. I'm sure that you can find many interesting topic and impressive technology into the Autodesk University.

I would like to share what I found in the virtual class of AU 2009 last week.

This is the video for introducing a Civil project; this is the civil highway project, in which it was involved to replacing & upgrading the design of the highway and the intersection. It also show the new intersection dialog box of Civil 3D 2010. At the end of the video it show the capability of dynamic change. Let's take a look!

This project is located near Tallahassee in the Florida Panhandle. It involved the softwares have AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Naviswork and Buzzsaw. From design to presentation, those product was fulfilled their requirement. All software can be linked together.

AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 vs 2010 - Junction Jack has just retired!

This is good news for every Civil engineer. Hydraflow storm sewers extension will be provided for Civil 3D 2008 subscription customers. It is able to perform storm and sewer design and analysis for land development and transportation projects.

Basic tasks includes:
- Watershed runoff analysis
- Channel analysis, including water surface elevations and floodplain delineation
- Sedimentation and erosion analysis
- Storm water management and urban drainage
- Reservoir system simulation and analysis

Generally speaking most people think database is difficult to access, expensive, not easy to integrate, high-end machine.... Today Opensource is the main stream in IT industry. Steve Job have the golden words "This is life in the technology lane". Everyone was talking about opensource, ex. Linux, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MapGuide, OpenOffice, .... it seems everyone can easy to get it. It benefits both user and vendor.
