Autodesk University 2009

Although I haven’t opportunity to attend the AU2009, I can attend the virtual classroom at anytime, anywhere and any platform. I choose to sitting in training lab to see these virtual classes. I'm sure that you can find many interesting topic and impressive technology into the Autodesk University.

I would like to share what I found in the virtual class of AU 2009 last week.

Autodesk Expands Support for Mac Users

Since Apple notebook can be installed Windows OS; Many people start to use the cool look macbook using Apple boot camp.

The following Autodesk products are fully supported to run within the Boot Camp environment:

BIM Model and MapGuide integration

Generally speaking, Revit/ BIM model is the object-based which have attached many informative attribute of the model; every component have their own property, behavior. Collaboration between Revit Architecture and AutoCAD Civil 3D

File collaboration is the necessary procedure during the construction project. It is not only talking one application. How DWG file can be imported to the Revit Architecture and use the DWG coordinates system? For example, the Site formation is created by AutoCAD Civil 3D and the Designer would like to see the model with the site formation model.

For this thread, I would like to show the Autodesk Revit Building topographic function; basically it support 3 different approach for generating the toposurface, first is manually sketch point, second is import instance and third is import points ASCII file (.csv). So.... How to model the existing surface and look more realistic? I selected "import instance" and "import point ASCII file" for the testing.
