Mon, 03/29/2010 - 3:59pm | by EricNow the new data source - LIDAR data sets/ 3D laser scanning can be imported and visualized within AutoCAD Map 3D software. Also you can stylize point clouds by LAS classification, spatial extents, elevation, or intensity. Point clouds can be used to create DEM surfaces, make measurement or new 3D features using standard AutoCAD drafting tools.

Autodesk Acquires Assets From BOSS International, Inc.

It seems that AutoCAD Civil 3D will be extended to conducting simulation and analysis of design rather than only model-based design solution.
