Today I saw my colleagues table have a 3D printing model which is the city model. The model is over 500 piece high-rise building block with the terrain model. Nowadays Autodesk LandXplorer Studio provides a platform, which can be easy to create a city model with your existing data model. Once the model is built, you can easy to navigate the city model and go to do the spatial-analysis e.g.

This is the new feature of MapGuide Enterprise 2010 and MapGuide Studio 2010. IN the previous version, it need to modify the map file to access the external file. Now we can make use of the GUI to do all procedure.

What is the external file?
Sometime it called alias folder. Those file was stored in another server or location of MapGuide server.

Why we need the external file?
