GeoSpatial News

OSGeo has published a newspaper - Volume 1 in which it covers all Geospatial news about event reports, project spotlights, case studies, integration studies, developer announcements... The first newspaper introduces a number of web mapping software (e.g. Mapbender, MapServer...). It's very informative. Now Web Mapping isn't only display the map. User can make simple spatial query (e.g. buffering) and integrate to ERM system to increase the interoperability. For the large scale map, User can easy to manage FM facility via LAN/ WAN. Because it supports large datasets & dynamic query, User can get latest information/ map and export to pdf. Personally speaking the newspaper lets me easy to get update news. I'm looking forward to vol. 2 in the year.

Open MapGuide Source has been announced that OSMG could support RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 and Fedora Core 6. OJ Cook indicated on the mailing list  sucessfully compilation of MapGuide Open Source for Ubuntu 6.06 Server. The OSMG Developer have one more selection. I'm not sure that someone on the mailing list mentions CentOS 4.5 also support OSMG....
