I would like to talk my impression after Autodesk OTC; this is my first time to go Autodesk OTC. Everything for me is very fresh. Especially the new features and enhancements for the AEC software are attracting. The Digital Prototyping allows us to test the function of the new design before starting production of a product. Sometime if the model can figure out what the problems are, then building another design, rapid prototyping techniques are used for the initial prototypes. This allow us to rapidly and inexpensively test the design that are most likely to have problems, solve those problems, and then implement the design. Parametric engine in Revit Architecture and Dynamic model in Autocad Civil 3D can provide good digital prototyping tools, the Engineer can clearly understand the design before implement the project. From the industry solution breakouts, they emphasize to talk architecture, engineering and construction (AEC); building design, civil design and construction operation are linked together; for example, the construction site would affect the building design, so the Architect properly need to know the site situation before to design the building. Interoperability, Analysis & Simulation can provide the Engineer to easy work with different participants and clearly know the design, then possible make different design options. Visualization can help them with less effort to make wonderful pictures and submit it to clients. I also have attended the leadership breakouts; it focuses on the marketing topics. I can learn sort of marketing. In the networking center I have seen Moving up the Geospatial Value Chain and Dig In! Join the Civil 3D User Community mini-seminar, get souvenir and enjoy the meal & wine inside the wonderful camp.
